Your responsibilities
Analyses of packaging requirements for various segments of the local market to identify PET substitution potential, including the use of barrier technology potential
Analyses packaging technology developments in the local market to identify PET potential
Derives packaging requirement profiles for PET substitution in the various local market segments
Defines PET packaging concepts, including barrier packaging concepts.
Supports PET sales activities in providing packaging technology advise to customers by means of conferences, presentations and direct customer contact
Realizes packaging development projects by developing preforms, bottles, SBM machine speed, process, and oven configurations
Responsible for PET lab
Supports sales by the clarification of packaging specifications and machine relevant parameter selection in the offering process and order execution.
Provides processing support during product development and ramp-up of PET packaging lines @ customer sites, through bottle sampling and/or SBM processing.
Follows KHS USA processes and procedures to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications; integrates European and American standards.
Interacts with production to verify and test equipment; provides technical assistance and support to sales, service, and purchasing as directed; supports parts sales by identifying correct replacement parts.
Prior to shipment, verifies performance of equipment to meet customer needs.
Troubleshoots performance issues in the field with field service and the customer’s technical representatives; analyzes KHS components, determines if equipment is functioning properly; takes action needed to ensure proper functioning.
May use computer aided design tools to review drawings, using the enterprise resource planning system to maintain Bill of Materials, processing Engineering Change Orders and maintaining drawing database.
Your profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Knowledge through education (engineering degree) or business experience (5 yrs minimum) in (PET) packaging technology
Knowledge through education (engineering degree) or business experience (5 yrs minimum) in plastic processing techniques
Basic engineering knowledge of mechanics, electrics and pneumatics.
Good communication skills
Analytical mind set, oriented to practical problem solving
At least three years’ experience in engineering processing equipment in a food or beverage packaging/processing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Mastery of MS Office applications
Ability to demonstrate proficiency within reasonable period of time in KHS USA ERP system
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Valid Passport and driver’s license are required.
