“The responsibility you already acquire as a student trainee is valuable for your personal further development.”
What I like especially about my work at KHS is that I can be responsible for my own topic areas and am at the same time surrounded by an extremely supportive team. I find the teamwork here extremely appreciative, as there’s always room for new impetus and ideas. I also find it impressive how quickly you can build up a network with national and international colleagues here at KHS. As a student trainee in HR Development, I can say that KHS offers its personnel a wide range of further training options.
Definitely! Working at KHS has helped me to personally develop further. I’ve been able to improve my communication skills through moderated meetings and constant interaction with instructors and participants. Arranging training courses and seminars has helped me to improve my powers of organization, which is also of benefit to me in my psychology degree course.
Like lots of other students, I wanted to start working early and gain some practical experience alongside all the theory. It’s always been important to me to amass new experience and actively participate. My main tasks are to organize and manage in-person and online seminars and engage in HR marketing and social media for HR. Organizing in-person seminars centers on a development program aimed at university graduates from all companies in the Salzgitter Group. Our online courses consist of sales product training units for KHS employees in Sales and Project Management at national and international level. Here, basic knowledge of the various KHS product areas is taught. My activities in HR marketing and social media require that I take care of trade show organization, research topics relevant to the international HR environment and write social media posts. I then draw up job reports together with colleagues from all over the world to show on our careers website the sheer diversity of jobs available at KHS.

I’m a full member of the team with demanding tasks and responsibilities – which I think is great! There’s a good balance between the demands of the job and the appreciation and recognition you’re shown. Sure, it’s challenging, but with good time management and support from my colleagues, it can be well handled. My flexible working hours and KHS’ appreciative management culture mean that I can easily combine my job as a student trainee with my degree course. It’s definitely worth it!
What with my full-time degree course and my job as a student trainee, I sometimes don’t have that much free time for hobbies. I used to play tennis a lot and could imagine taking it up again. I like meeting my friends when I have time or going to the fitness studio. I love trying out new activities, such as water skiing or stand-up paddling. When I need to chill, I like reading books on mindsets or to spend time doing some gardening. My big passion is traveling and I hope to discover lots more great places in my life.
