The primary job function of the Electrical Engineer Consultant – Line Engineering is to design and support KHS Digital products in assessing customer needs to prepare quotations and support customers, engineering and project management colleagues in the stages of planning to final commissioning of complete lines, preparing customer presentations and supporting KHS equipment that has been deployed to the field. Additionally, this role includes supporting KHS Sales with questions regarding electrical engineering like electrical equipment of KHS machines and the electrical power supply of KHS lines.

Your responsibilities

  • Technical sales support regarding the electrical execution of KHS lines and machines.
  • Preparation of a costumer related ETS.
  • Technical support regarding the electrical execution of KHS scope of delivery.
  • Manage technical clarification meetings regarding the electrical execution of the KHS scope of delivery with the costumer.
  • Participation C-Gate Meeting.
  • Preparation of the order related ETS.
  • Electrical engineering of the Wire ways in the Order Processing Layout (OPL).
  • Clarification of Quality issues regarding the electrical installation.
  • Follows KHS USA processes and procedures to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications; integrates American and European standards.
  • Interacts with production to verify and test equipment; provides technical assistance and support to sales, service, and purchasing as directed; supports parts sales by identifying correct replacement parts.  
  • Prior to shipment, verifies performance of equipment to meet customer needs. 
  • Troubleshoots performance issues in the field with field service and the customer’s technical representatives; analyzes KHS components, determines if equipment is functioning properly; takes action when needed to ensure proper functioning.

Your profile

  • Bachelor of electrical engineering.
  • Good knowledge of machine interfaces.
  • Good knowledge of common interface standard e.g. Weihenstephan, OMAC.
  • Good knowledge of the relevant electrical UL and Canadian Norms and regulations.
  • Confident demeanor in negotiations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical European Norms and regulation is preferred.
  • At least three years’ experience in engineering processing equipment in a food or beverage packaging/processing environment; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Mastery of MS Office applications.  Experience in SAP and Reqman is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency within reasonable period of time in KHS USA ERP system.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Valid Passport and driver’s license are required.
