The GEA Till story began in 1967 when former Coca-Cola engineer Heinz Till started developing and manufacturing washing machines for beverage containers. He soon specialized in the design and distribution of washing and racking machines for the hygienic stainless steel keg which was being used by an increasing number of beverage producers throughout the world. This made Till the market leader in Europe. In 1985 he teamed up with GEA AG, with whom he became the world leader in this sector just five years later. GEA Till later joined the KHS Group in 1999.
