Commissioning of filling and packaging line planned for mid-2011
The Wernesgrüner brewery, which belongs to the Bitburger brewery group, and the beverage equipment manufacturer KHS have concluded a contract for a new filling and packaging line. With a capacity of 50,000 glass bottles per hour, the new line in Wernesgrün enables the filling of both 0.3-l and 0.5-l bottles. “With the new plant technology, we are well prepared for further increases in volume in Wernesgrün,” Dr. Bernd Schmidt, Managing Director of the Technology division at the Wernesgrüner brewery, explains. “We have enjoyed a very good and cooperative working relationship with KHS for many years now. The decision confirms the long-lasting partnership and underlines the trust that the Bitburger brewery group has in the North Rhine-Westphalian company,” Jan Niewodniczanski, Managing Director of the Technology division of the Bitburger brewery group, says. Wernesgrüner traditionally relies on the beverage equipment manufacturer and already has a KHS system in use. Official commissioning of the new filling line is planned for mid-2011. In previous years, numerous projects have been realized with KHS also at other sites of the Bitburger brewery group.
