KHS & SSI Schäfer: a Partnership with a Future

KHS and intralogistics expert SSI Schäfer will be working together with immediate effect.  The management of SSI Schäfer outlines the scope and vision of this partnership on the basis of the three questions below.   1 What was the decisive factor in favor of the strategic partnership with KHS? During many logistics planning sessions at SSI Schäfer in Giebelstadt we realized that, sooner or later, we would encounter limitations when it came to designing and implementing turnkey systems.  It is important to understand and not lose sight of the processes and accessibility on the line.  Together with KHS we are accomplishing these tasks.  Decisions can be evaluated and presented to customers as recommendations much more easily in a team. 2 What can customers in the beverage industry expect from you? To put it briefly: universal systems and well-coordinated technology.  We don't simply want to combine two systems; instead, we want to achieve integrated added value for customers.  Both companies have a very extensive range of products and are innovative – and are also continuing to develop consistently.  This makes us very different from other system integrators currently active on the market.   3 What are the main challenges the industry must face? Besides the ever increasing pressure of rising costs and the resulting necessity to continually optimize existing processes, SSI Schäfer assumes that the variety of items will continue to rise and the proportion of pick-and-place and ready-made goods compared to total sales will go on growing
