Dortmund, February 27, 2015 – True taste. First choice: with this motto KHS will be underlining its expertise in reliable filling and packaging systems for milk products and sensitive beverages at its trade show booth in Cologne from March 24–27, 2015. Optimum product protection is the key issue being presented at Anuga FoodTec 2015.
In this context KHS will be presenting its safe and reliable linear filling system for milk products in the cold chain live at its trade show booth, for example. Here, show visitors can also find out more about KHS' entire portfolio for aseptic beverage filling. The successful Bottles & ShapesTM PET consultancy program and various new pioneering packaging system developments round off the range of KHS topics. Through these practical engineering examples companies in the food and beverage industries are thus able to find out in detail how production performance and flexibility can be optimized and thus line availability increased in the long term.
Fast and flexible filling of beverages for the cold chain
The central theme of the KHS booth is the filling of extended shelf life or ESL milk products into PET/HDPE containers. KHS is the only manufacturer to offer the beverage industry a full program for aseptic filling which encompasses both linear and rotary systems. Both types of machine reliably implement KHS' sophisticated philosophy on aseptics, ensuring maximum product safety and sustainability throughout the entire production process.
At the booth in Cologne interested visitors can explore the convincing benefits of the KHS Innosept Asbofill ESL filling machine, for instance. Its especially small aseptic zone not only gives operators maximum product safety at a low cost; the container is also hygienically sealed directly following the filling process. Both of these measures ensure maximum product safety. Another plus point of the Innosept Asbofill ESL is its short format changeover time which is performed without affecting the prevalent aseptic conditions. The container options are also many and varied, ranging from containers holding from 0.1 to 2 liters through various weights – from lightweighting to the classic receptacle – to a number of different closures from the aluminum to the screw cap. The machine outputs 12,000 or 24,000 bottles per hour at low operating and maintenance costs.
To ensure a long shelf life for milk products, mixed milk beverages and juices which are not destined for the cold chain, the KHS Innosept ASR rotary aseptic machine is available; this has a capacity of up to 36,000 bottles per hour.
From the initial design to the finished bottle
As part of the successful Bottles & Shapes™ program visitors to the trade show can look forward to seeing a new lightweight system which has been specially developed for milk products and sensitive beverages. With this KHS is re-enforcing its PET expertise on these markets, too, as regards maximum economical, ecological and functional specifications.
Unique product protection made of glass with FreshSafe PET®
With its innovative Plasmax process KHS will be illustrating how the insides of PET bottles are coated with an ultra-thin layer of glass. FreshSafe PET® gives extremely sensitive beverages two clear advantages: 1) it reliably prevents oxygen from penetrating the product and thus guards against premature vitamin loss and 2) the taste remains unchanged while providing a longer shelf life than with standard PET bottles. Plasmax-coated bottles can be fully recycled, which is of long-term benefit to the environment.
Innovative, sustainable packaging system
As part of its range of packaging technology one item KHS will be exhibiting is a new display packer for large containers. This cuts down on costs for packaging and with its large-format tray sends out a strong visual buying message to consumers in store. In a competitive environment, such as that among discounters, this new feature is a convincing and attractive alternative to standard trays.
