Milestone in company history

Bad Meinberger Mineralbrunnen acquires new KHS bottle washing machine

Dortmund, March 04, 2015 – Bad Meinberger mineral water has been a famous and popular natural product for almost 250 years.  Extracted from the depths of the Egge Hills in the Teutoburg Forest in Germany, it is marketed by the mineral water bottling plant Bad Meinberger Mineralbrunnen. The family business recently decided to procure an energy and resource-saving bottle washing system from KHS.

The new system replaces an old glass bottle washer from 1988. By investing in cutting-edge technology Bad Meinberger Mineralbrunnen is not only considerably increasing its flexibility (the machine processes glass bottles holding from 0.2 to 1 liters); it is also endorsing the company's strategy of acting sustainably and with respect for our natural surroundings. This is made possible by optimized heat and water management in the KHS system which is directly heated by a natural gas heater. This has the advantage that energy is generated exactly where it is used; there is thus no line loss.

Into the production shop through the roof
The new bottle washing system was spectacularly delivered. Over 14 meters long and more than 53 metric tons in weight, the line had to be carefully hoisted into the bottling shop through a specially made opening in the roof by a 500-ton crane. The old bottle washer had previously left the building by the same route. Following this successful high-precision exchange, the new plant engineering will soon go into operation in the middle of March, marking another milestone in the long company history of the Bad Meinberger mineral water bottling plant.
