Innosept Asbofill ASR
New aseptic rotary technology rounds off KHS aseptic program
With the Innosept Asbofill ASR KHS is now launching a new generation of aseptic rotary machines to market. This complements the KHS portfolio of Innosept Asbofill ABF aseptic linear filling machines for a surface hygienization of up to log6 and of Innosept Asbofill ESL systems for a surface hygienization of up to log5, rounding off the top performance segment. KHS is the only manufacturer to now provide a full aseptic program of both linear and rotary equipment for the beverage industry. Tried-and-tested processes and components from the ABF series have been utilized as far as possible in the Innosept Asbofill ASR. For example, the Innosept Asbofill ASR contains an aerosol and heating system which is identical to the one found in aseptic linear filling technology, also adopting the sterilization principle used here. In this sterilizer H2O2 aerosol enters each plastic bottle through a lance that ends just below the bottle neck. The H2O2 aerosol is sprayed into the center of the bottle, with the gas this displaces escaping up the sides of the lance and out of the bottle. The H2O2 used for sterilization is preheated to about 150°C and then sprayed into the unheated bottle at a temperature of 100°C. The inside of the bottle is thus completely covered in a sterilized film even when this procedure is applied to ribbed, embossed, or rectangular containers. The bottle exterior is sterilized by H2O2 being directly sprayed onto the bottle wall. The special sterilization principle applied enables the H2O2 to dry within a single drying wheel without leaving any residue. Sterile air is blown permanently into the aseptic zone between the drying and filling wheel and is supplied by a valve manifold – also a component from the proven ABF series – positioned on the machine. Candle filters act as sterile filters. The positive displacement current prevents germs from entering the aseptic process. Like the Innosept Asbofill ABF, the Innosept Asbofill ASR is based on a room-within-a-room concept. Aseptically sealed Plexiglas panes protect the aseptic zone from the machine area which in turn acts as a mechanical barrier to the production shop. In the filler area various free-flowing filling valves can be selected. The optimized filling processes on the Innosept Asbofill ASR enable around 30% fewer valves to be utilized at the same filler capacity. In the capper only the cone is in the aseptic zone on KHS' new rotary machinery. All other components are in a separate sanitary room which is separated from the aseptic zone by an airlock. The plastic caps are sterilized in exactly the same manner as the plastic bottles. H2O2 aerosol is sprayed onto the caps where it takes effect and then dries. The Innosept Asbofill ASR is available in five versions:- The Innosept Asbofill ASR 24 with an output of 24,000 bottles per hour for bottles holding up to either 500 ml or 1 liter.
- The Innosept Asbofill ASR 36 with an output of 36,000 bottles per hour for bottles holding up to either 500 ml, 1 liter, or 1.5 liters.
